To install:
Partition your CF card with 1 10 meg or larger fat16 partition
and make the other partition ext2 (230 meg or more)
Format the partitions. (e.g mkdosfs /dev/sda1 and mke2fs /dev/sda2)
As root user uncompress the image (expands to roughly 218 meg)
As root user extract the files from inside fat16.tar.bz2 to fat16 partition. 
Then extract the ext2.tar.bz2 to ext2 partition.
Edit params.txt in fat partition to say mem=32m if using a 710/720
Thats it.
Pop CF back into jornada, power on, navigate to storage card (win+e opens explorer, no need to go through setup)
run linexec.exe. You'll see scrolling text followed by a GPE splash screen, then login prompt

Bugs, tips and whatnot:
The mouse icon at the bottom of panel lets you middle and right click with your stylus.
Mplayer works best with reencoded videos at lower framerate/samplerate ( avoid wmv )
MSN is broken in centerim (use tmsnc instead)
GPE logout only works as root user. Use ctrl+alt+bkspace in a user account
Certain apps only run as root, like wifi-radar, so as a user, clicking the icon doesnt work
I made a small script to change brightness in X, run lcd to set it to 125
Also made a brightness script for console, run lcdconsole to set to 110
Made a startx script in case X crashes, as there wasnt one by default
If coming out of console mode, only root can startx, which restarts the GUI login
Firefox can be fullscreened by using F11 (word key)
Firefox takes 10-20 seconds to start up initially, be patient. Page loading is quick on a 728.
All quick launch keys are mapped to F1-F11
After suspend wireless hangs, pull out and reinsert card to regain ip

You can add/remove panel applets by holding stylus on taskbar/panel, menu then pops up
